What is a college coach?

A college coach is a parent, grandparent, teacher, relative or family friend. A college coach is anyone who is committed to helping a child succeed as they move through school toward high school graduation and on to postsecondary education. College coaches need not have gone to college themselves, they just need to believe in the value of higher education.

Research shows that elementary school is a critical time for students to envision opportunities beyond high school. According to recent studies, students determine by sixth grade if they are college-bound.
